Basilica of Saint Zeno

Started in 807 A.D. and continually expanded right into the 20th century. St. Zeno is the patron saint of Verona. If you look closely at the close up I took of a couple of the frescoes, you can see where bozos have been defacing them since at least the 14th century. The bronze sculptures on the doors are particularly impressive.

Many of the Frescoes are attributed to Giotto who was an inspiration to Michaelangelo.

Some of the frescoes are applied over other Frescoes.

This church also has a very tall bell tower which the Supreme Being was again unsuccessful in convincing me to walk up...😋
